Karen Kviltu Lidal

Karen Kviltu Lidal uses textile, drawing and sculpture to map out, trace, document and displace architecture and spaces, often using her own body as scale. Her work investigate the built structures around us; how the city and architecture relate to the body, and it’s connections to the social, gender and power. Karen Kviltu Lidal (b. 1979) lives and works in Oslo and Berlin. She holds a MA from Oslo Academy of the Arts (KHIO, 2008). Solo presentations include Bauen Wohnen Denken in Tegnerforbundet, The Body and the Map in Moss kunstforening and Soft City Pieces in Window Box/Galleri Pushwagner. Group shows among others: Alfa Gallery Miami, Kunstnernes hus, Akershus kunstsenter, Soft and Nasjonalmuseet i Oslo. Lidal’s work is included in the collections of the National Museum of Decorative Arts and Design, Trondheim and KODE, Bergen.
